Joaquín has a vast history in the community as an organizer, serving individually and in various progressive advocacy organizations. He’s fought to bring justice for working class and marginalized families in poverty at all levels of government; from fighting against displacement locally to achieving equitable public education funding in Sacramento. Under President Obama's administration, Joaquín worked on federal economic, environmental, and labor policy. On the international stage, he fought for refugee justice and for the most vulnerable countries to get a seat at the table at the United Nations in Switzerland. Now, Joaquín is fighting for the people of California's 53rd Congressional District to have a voice in Washington, DC and fight the Trump agenda.TW: We talk about family separation and homelessness.
