    When you read, hear or see the word "Waco" what comes to mind? For some, it's the Waco Siege began in early 1993, when a government raid on a church near Waco, Texas led to a 51-day standoff between federal agents and members of Mount Carmel Center called the Branch Davidians. The siege ended dramatically on April 19, 1993, when fires consumed the church, leaving some 82 people dead, including 25 children. Join me as I walk in David Thibodeau’s shoes.

Linda and her husband turned one of their rental properties in Vine City, Atlanta, the 5th worst crime-ridden neighborhood in the United States, into a homeless shelter. They named the shelter and the non-profit George’s Place in honor of Linda’s daddy, and they operated with funding from their friends and family. Now let's fast-forward to where were you in 2004? For Linda, a tragic event occurred that left 5 children who just happened to be Haitian without a mom and dad. On the 17th day of the 7th month of the year 2007. Linda’s family grew from the size of 2 to 7 with children ranging in ages from 7 to 17. The new Haitian children, the Gunter’s were soon about to have an encounter in Haiti that would change their lives and many others.
