Episódios

  • Episode 134 - On the Road Again

    04/10/2022 Duração: 20min

Yeah, from the car with no real mic. This Galaxy Fold 4 does a helluva job though. Enjoy the episode all. I will catch up with you again next week. Here's some awesome pics to hold you over. Later, Kyle P.S. I kept calling the Toadies album Pleather...I meant Rubberneck. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 133 - Oh Yeah, It's Here

    28/09/2022 Duração: 28min

Depression appears once again. I explain what it's like a little in the episode at the top. I think this fella does it a little better though...and it's a cool song. Depression is Here! I ask for anyone to chime in on what it's like for them and here are the links I promise following that: Mail The Dad Snark Podcast Tweet The Dad Snark Podcast Check The Dad Snark Page on Facebook You can even just make a quick recording here on Anchor and let me know. So that’s that. On the What I’m Into front? There’s plenty. Of course the SteamDeck takes center stage. You’ll have to listen to the rest. See you all next week! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 132 - SteamedDeck

    20/09/2022 Duração: 19min

I really do not understand the anger over this device. It's $399 starting and it's a handheld computer that can play Steam library games (not all, but a lot) and you can even dock it and use it as a computer. People are just a little whacko these days. This was recorded when I was on the way to see Moonage Daydream. Great film, but hardly a documentary. More of an experimental film. I dug it, but most will not. I guarantee that. I talk about a bunch of stuff with the SteamDeck in here and a few other odds and ends. You can always hit me up if I didn't cover something you're interested in. Here's the pic link too. See you again soon! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 131 - She Wants Brains Brains Brains

    07/09/2022 Duração: 24min

Great Birthday/Holiday weekend folks. What a blast. It was here and gone in no time flat though. Updated pics here. Saw Jaws in 3D IMAX. Never thought I'd be able to say that. It was glorious too. One of the best movies of all time. Hands down. Ordered up my Steam Deck kids, so prep yourselves for all kinds of stuff about that thing soon. That's all. Life is busy, but it's awesome. See you next week! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 130 - My God, It's Full of Stars

    24/08/2022 Duração: 14min

This is what I've been saying about the screens on this new Galaxy Z-Fold 4. Utterly astounding. Hard to believe there's a camera under the display on the big screen as well. Nuts. Just busy kids over here as you can, kinda, see. I'll be back at ya next week with more exciting stuff. Stay tuned! Kyle --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 129 - Into the Fold

    17/08/2022 Duração: 21min

Oh yeah, it's a new one. Latest pics are here. Enjoy! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 128 - Mar-A-UhOh

    10/08/2022 Duração: 15min

Oh yeah, I'd like to personally thank the FBI. Go get 'em! Lots of good fun stuff going on right now. Just check out these pictures. Saw Nope...twice now. I love it. Prey is a solid entry into the Predator films also. Check it out on hulu. Not too much new music-wise. Listening to another Joe R. Lansdale book. Another western at that, but there's like vampires, so... Same old podcasts. I will have some more new stuff next week guys. Thanks for listening! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Special Report 034 - Awww, Shoot!

    25/07/2022 Duração: 11min

Had a shoot in the morning. First one in awhile. It was 89 degrees F at 935a. Ugh! Got to see Nope on Saturday and it was pretty wild. I will go into it a bit further next full episode. Enjoy this special report for this week though. Later, Kyle --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 127 - Beware the Appliances

    20/07/2022 Duração: 14min

A little intro about all the good things in life ending with us having to plunk out some $$$$ for a new fridge. Hey, I tried. I really really wanna see Nope. I've watched a few interviews with Jordan Peele and the cast, and I just know I'm gonna love it. We finally watched City on a Hill with Kevin Bacon. Great show if you get a chance. We're also finishing up Grace and Frankie. Listening to a ton of Frank Black and the Catholics as you can imagine. I'll just leave it right there. Finished up the 3rd TPB collection of Something is Killing the Children. Great book. I highly suggest it if you're into horror-type stories/comics. Started listening to The Peacemaker on Audible also. Good story thus far. Same old same old with podcasts. That's all I've got for this week. See you the next and thanks for listening! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 126 - Braggadocio

    13/07/2022 Duração: 24min

So much good stuff going on in my life right now. Yes, it involves my awesome children. Listen and see what you think. Listening to plenty of new stuff and a full 6 studio album box set arrives today. Here are some great recent pics. Watching? Well, the new season of Umbrella Academy is pretty solid. Here's a trailer. I also watched the documentary All I Can Say with my buddy I've not hung with in about 17 years. Solid and slightly depressing documentary, but gotta watch it if you like the melon. Not much on the reading front and pretty much just the same stuff on podcasts. Go listen to Something Was Wrong immediately. That's it kids. See ya next week! P.S. Here is the video from the almost school shooter I talk about. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 125 - My Buddy

    30/06/2022 Duração: 22min

So, I mean, what do you give your long-distance bromance? Easy fools! I mean, they're probably a bigger Royals fan and they live in Cleveland. It's in the pics here. It brought me so much joy knowing instantly that I'd get this thing to Keith Beard ASAP. On the "What I'm Into" front...nothing much has changed. You'll have to give it a listen to see. Happy 4th and be safe kids! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Special Report 033 - Record Store Day June 2022

    22/06/2022 Duração: 17min

You know what you're in for. Here's what I ended up scoring and some new pics. See ya next week! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 124 - Yeah, Ummm, That Really Happened

    15/06/2022 Duração: 29min

Well, I start off professing my love for tacos and all things Mexican when it comes to food and drink. I also mention my recent promotion and raise. Record Store Day #2 for 2022 is this coming Saturday morning. I can't wait. I will be recording a Special Report like normal for that also. I picked up a few records while thrifting this last weekend also... Freakout Guitars - Freakout!! The New Guitar Sounds 101 Strings - The Soul of Mexico Various Artists - Knockout The Isley Brothers - 3 + 3 Personally, I dig Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+. Do I think it's kinda odd at times and a little off? Sure. Do I really care? Nope. It's an episodic space opera. It's really that simple. The new season of Stranger Things is incredible. The best one yet. The renewed love for Kate Bush as a result of it is staggering to see also. Amazing song and perfect placement in the series. Running up that Hill is something I remember seeing the video for on MTV when I was a kid. I also really loved an album of hers that I had on CD called

  • Episode 123 - It's as Easy as...

    08/06/2022 Duração: 26min

So, just proud dad-ing it again at the top. The kids really are doing great things. It's a pleasure to watch it happening. Waiting to watch more Obi-Wan Kenobi and Stranger Things Season 4 (part 1), so I did start a few new things while the wife and daughter are at Girl Scout Camp. You guys seen the Insidious films at all? There's like 4 of them. I watched the first one (Insidious) and started the second one (Insidious Chapter 2), but I've not finished it yet. The first one was pretty scary for sure. Also watching the Apple TV series called The Big Conn. Wow! It's amazing how much this guy (and some cronies) were able to rip off the U.S. Government for. Incredible really. Sad for those who lost benefits because of his actions. Not much new in the music department. Just awaiting June 18th for the second RSD of this year. Also, holding on for that Frank Black & The Catholics box set. Not much to speak of as far as reads. Listening to 4 podcasts right now that are very interesting to me: Something Was Wrong

  • Episode 122 - Busy Bee

    01/06/2022 Duração: 23min

Kids are just getting after it with activities and loving it. I think Lou Reed's song Beginning of a Great Adventure is pretty much spot on. I mean, they make my life a series of neverending tasks. Yeah, I might be taking away something different from that song. The message to me is that rearing children is the beginning of a great adventure...well, if you care at all that is. Regardless, they're the best thing I've been involved in and I love my time with them. I did snag a few new records this past holiday weekend. Combat Rock by The Clash might be a sore subject for punk rock fans from the 70s and 80s, but I love it. My uncle had the cassette when I was young and it was played quite a lot. It's a winner in my book. Sturgill Simpson's Metamodern Sounds in Country Music is a winner as well. I love this album. You can see these two along with some other miscellaneous pics in the photo album here. Yeah, I'm partaking in alcoholic beverages on a leaner basis than I had been before. I've got this. Couldn't pass

  • Episode 121 - Good Work

    25/05/2022 Duração: 23min

Yeah, I pat myself on the back a little at the top here. So what? I'm so super jazzed about Obi-Wan Kenobi coming this Friday. I can't say enough about it. Stranger Things is gonna be good too. As is the 3rd season of The Umbrella Academy. So much goodness to watch at the moment. Not much new in the music I'm listening to. I'm sure that will change in no time. Here's a little something about the Pro-Ject turntable I am going on about though. It's the one that doesn't have a normal plinth (base) to it. Still digging on Paradise Sky by Joe R. Lansdale. This guy is a dialogue genius undoubtedly. Check out the TV show Hap and Leonard or the film Cold in July if you're wondering about his tales. All episodes of Hap and Leonard are on Netflix. Cold in July is available to stream on a few spots, but available to rent as well. Here's where. Same old same old on podcasts. Someone Knows Something is back with a new season though. Pretty solid so far also. Thanks for listening and I will catch you guys next week. Please

  • Episode 120 - Proud Dad Alert!

    18/05/2022 Duração: 21min

You've been warned. Okay, so I do talk a bit about my kids and how they're developing as they grow up. I can't wait to see how the next 2-4 years go with Chris graduating in 2 and Audrey starting as a Freshman next year. It's gonna be a wild ride no doubt. (pics in link here) On the subject of what I'm into...well, I forgot to talk about something big. I was asked to a sneak peek screening of the 3rd season of Love, Death, and Robots for Netflix. I love the first two seasons madly and what I saw of this one is no different. Jibaro and Night of the Mini Dead are my two faves. I can't wait to see them again and all the rest of the new ones this coming Friday. What else am I watching? I finished up the McMillion$ documentary on HBOMax and it was fantastic. I started up Invisible Pilot shortly after. Great as well. Did snag a new record this week. Open Mike Eagle's Dark Comedy is really special. A nice mix of Rap, Electronic, and more. Check it out if you're into that sort of thing. Or even if you're not. I mean,

  • Episode 119 - Plain Vanilla

    11/05/2022 Duração: 16min

I mean, that's no ad to keep you from listening. There's some good stuff in here. The RED Hydrogen One smartphone...Titanium Edition. It was silly expensive in 2018 (Like $1700) and it didn't live for too long out there. Verizon and AT&T were exclusive partners and it worked on their services. It was meant to be something special and it still really is...kinda. I'm into a bunch, you'll have to listen. I will, however, share some pics with you. I will also share this Turkish Star Wars trailer. That's not a real trailer BTW. It's a mish-mash between the original SW and this horrible film. Fun though. Here's the awesome training montage I discuss during the episode as well. The music sounds a little familiar. See ya next week kids! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message

  • Episode 118 - It Can't Always Be Good Stuff

    04/05/2022 Duração: 25min

Sorry, but this one starts out with some talk about something personal that is not remotely happy nor good. Blind Melon's song Mouthful of Cavities plays at the beginning. Very good tune. For stuff I'm into... A bunch of documentaries including this amazing one about the creation of the film Alien (1979) called Memory. I have another doc I will be watching with an old pal about Shannon Hoon called All I Can Say. We'll have some tissue ready for this one. For the rest of it, you'll just have to give her a listen here. Please rate and review. It really does help me out. • Special Report 032 - RSD April 2022

    26/04/2022 Duração: 18min

It was an early one. I sure as heck hope T.Swift doesn't drop another one in June. Pics of all, including my daughter and friends for their 8th grade dance and all records I purchased...Oh, and the damned line. See you all soon! --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thedadsnarkpodcast/message
