Here I am explaining the history of specialization and exploitation in the western world starting with it's roots in the economic model of today. This is a synopsis of a great deal of research i have been doing that I am sure you will find valuable and insightful.Thanks for listening!

This podcast is about taking the power back from the hoarders and exploiters of the twentieth century.I read from four different books, to give a sense of perspective and directions for positive growth. This is why we need a decentralized means of production for food first and energy and transportation too.

If many of our locally consumed potatoes, onions, squash and beans came from this amazingly rich and fertile field, where those solar panels are going off 209 across from walmart , we would not be letting it happen, it would not have even been considered. This is the fundamental issue I want to put together a master plan for our watershed and our communities, to be more food independent and more energy independent. This dovetails beautifully when the goals of greater local food autonomy year round full diet food production goal with a integrated and thoughtfully designed renewable energy system, are combined, when kept separate, we sacrifice food growing for energy. This is because of our industrialized import/export model of land use and economic growth. We need a new model of growth that focuses on greater local/regional food and energy security, integrated in a plan for resilient long term investments in a sustainable infrastructure for our region.

I go into some toxic legacy information and why I teach and how Upattinas, in Glenmoore,PA. , influenced my educational philosophy. This was a K-12 school that I both graduated from, and then taught at, for a decade and created my trademark ecological literacy curriculum there. The worst actor on the global is stage is and has been the United States for the past 70 years we have held the world hostage at gun point with a toxic nuclear bullet to their head. It is racist propaganda to call China anything other then our brother and sister in this struggle on earth to bring the U.S. military under control.

In this podcast I go into why we need a better social ethic for technology in this country and greater literacy in toxicology to navigate these issues around which ones shall we invite into our world and how and why and which ones shall we eschew and avoid. I also get into why attitude is not what causes cancer or is causing BIPOC people to die from COVID in greater numbers then the privileged white population.

We need to create a future that includes all of the people all of the time not just some of the people some of the time.The Landscapes of permaculture are a pathway to true egalitarian living.

This whole society is substantially, morally and ethically broken and has been for a long time after the utter injustice of colonialism and ethnic genocide against American Indians and a nation built on slavery and exploitation we added industrialization and contamination of our own people. We die at the hands of the police and the military every day and have a sick industrial prison complex full of our ethnic people due to the white supremacists in charge of our government and our economy. Permaculture has the tools to change this inequity and here I outline some of what they are, for those who care to learn.

So much to share and so little time on this Earth! Squandering our window with Nuclear legacies is a travesty and must be stopped. We have to grasp that ethical evolution is essential for the quality of life of future generations. Enjoy these readings on longer cycles of human evolution.

We need to borrow from the many ingenious examples of cultures who have responded wisely to their ecological impacts, The terraces all over the Mediterranean were built to stem the tide of severe erosion from centuries of overgrazing with goats and sheep. The terraces of Turkey, Spain, and Greece are mostly a polyculture perennial food forest like we describe in permaculture as a truly sustainable agriculture. Another brilliant adaptation to limits are the terraces of the Inca and the Aymara in Peru and Bolivia. These systems enabled food production in landscapes where you could not grow any major food crops before creating their extensive and spectacular engineering feats of terrace systems and roads throughout an extremely rugged and barren environment. One of the most productive horticultural systems in the world was employed by the Aztec around what today is Mexico City.

I wanted to launch into the new year with a vision. A vision of what we would rather see in the world and how to go about doing it! Claiming greater local autonomy by producing more of our food locally year round full diet and more of our energy from diverse, appropriate renewable, distributed systems.

I delve into 2 readings one from Fred Pearce The New Wild an excellent exploration into the dynamic history of introduced species and the character of their behavior. I then read from Ester Boserup batting against Malthus and I offer some narratives in between to connect them all to our Permaculture solution set and viewpoint.

I do readings from 3 books, the first an excerpt from Kurlansky's, Food of a Younger Nation, The Pecan by Mcwilliams and Vonnegut- Fates Worse then Death. I tie these together with themes of changing landscapes and the roots of the Permaculture Ethics. I explore the solutions that emerge from them.

Herein I read selections from a collection of Vonnegut essays in Wampeters Foma & Granfalloons. Ethics and morals that align with the Permaculture solutions and values, enjoy and give feedback!
