  • #134 2018 Fantasy Deep Dive II: RB’s w/ Mike Dente

    23/08/2018 Duração: 27min

Tonight, NFL regular season dress rehearsals commence and that likely means many of you have your fantasy football league drafts in only a matter of days. And if you do so and as a result tuned to us for last minute advice…congratulations! Joining us for our second edition of our 2018 Fantasy Deep Dive series (which covers the RB position) is a man who will give you the insights needed to help you knock your draft out of the ballpark. He is my good friend and mentor, Mr. Mike Dente of FantasyPros.com, Rotoballer.com and ArbourPro.com. Mike’s Twitter handle: @1stStopFantasy 1. This season, would you prefer taking two RB’s with your first two picks, or a RB and WR with your first two picks? 2. Who is the most overvalued RB in your view? The most undervalued? 3. Question from Patrick (@Mauty480) Is Alvin Kamara worth taking with the fifth overall pick in PPR leagues? 4. Question from Jacen (@JacenMiller) Who are two late round sleepers you’re targeting and in what rounds? Are...

  • #133 2018 NFL Preseason Week 2 Recap + Week 3 Preview w/ Hal

    22/08/2018 Duração: 01h22min

2018 training camps are in the books and we are halfway home in the 2018 NFL preseason. This week all 32 teams will prepare for preseason game #3, which is essentially the dress rehearsal for the regular season. There were also a ton of interesting stories to take away from the “prequel” to that dress rehearsal. To recap what we saw this past week and preview what to look for in these all-important third preseason games, what better person is there than my main man Hal Bent of FullPressCoverage.com. Hal’s Twitter handle: @halbent01 1. Should Josh Allen start for the Bills in Week 1, or is it too soon to throw him to the wolves by then? 2. Isn’t this textbook organizational malpractice by the Browns by not giving Baker Mayfield reps with the first-team offense? 3. If nobody comes forward with an offer of a second-round pick or higher for Teddy Bridgewater, should the Jets just hang on to him and get a high 2020 compensatory pick for him instead? 4. If Chad Kelly shows more...

  • #132 Minnesota Vikings 2018 Season Preview w/ Myles Gorham

    17/08/2018 Duração: 47min

As I’ve mentioned several times on this program in recent weeks, the Minnesota Vikings are my pick to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIII. Last season, despite having a journeyman caretaker under center and losing their star rookie RB to an early season-ending injury, the Vikings rode their supremely-talented, championship level defense and brilliant coaching all the way to the NFC Championship, where their hearts were broken by the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles. This spring, GM Rick Spielman made the necessary moves to help ensure that the Vikings will take that next step. They drastically upgraded the QB position by signing Pro Bowler Kirk Cousins in free agency, re-signed several key pieces of their talented young core to long-term deals, and potentially made their defense even scarier in both free agency as well as the draft. For the Vikings to win their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history, it’s clearly now or never. Joining me tonight to give us a preview of the...

  • #131 2018 Fantasy Deep Dive: WR’s and TE’s w/Jeff Haseley

    15/08/2018 Duração: 41min

Three weeks from Thursday night, the 2018 NFL season officially kicks off and that means many of you have your fantasy league drafts right around the corner. We here at Sports Krunch are more committed than ever to not only helping you get ready for draft day. Tonight, we start our annual Fantasy Deep Dive series with a look at which WR’s and TE’s to target or not to target when you’re on the clock. And joining us tonight to answer your questions on this matter is Jeff Haseley. Jeff is a lead writer and weekly columnist for the acclaimed fantasy football website footballguys.com. Jeff’s Twitter handle: @JeffHaseley 1. Is it a safer strategy to wait on drafting a WR given the depth at the position? 2. Who is the most overvalued WR in your view? The most undervalued? 3. The consensus top four WR’s are Antonio Brown, Odell Beckham, Jr., DeAndre Hopkins and Julio Jones. While Brown is the near-unanimous top WR on the board, the latter three are interchangeable. In what order do you...

  • #130 2018 NFL Preseason Week 1 Recap + Other News w/Hal Bent

    15/08/2018 Duração: 37min

With training camps concluding this week, the 2018 NFL season is rapidly approaching us like a freight train. And on and off the field, the roar of the train that is the NFL sounds like its already in midseason form. With numerous clues gathered through week 1 of the preseason and some key developments around the league, there is a lot to talk about today. And what better person is there to do it with than my right hand man Hal Bent of FullPressCoverage.com. Hal’s Twitter handle: @halbent01 1. After a 29-day standoff, the Bears and Roquan Smith finally came to an agreement on his rookie contract. Now, the challenge for the Bears is getting the promising young LB ready to play by Week 1. Is the best bet to have Roquan Smith play during the preseason or not having him play and instead spend these next three and a half weeks getting him in 100% football shape before the season opener at the Packers? 2. There’s a lot brewing around the injury front as far as the defending Super Bowl...

  • #129 2018 NFL Preseason Week 1 Preview w/ Hal Bent

    09/08/2018 Duração: 46min

24 NFL teams have started the 2018 preseason play and the remaining eight join the fun over the weekend. While exhibition games do not count in the NFL…they matter. The preseason is a chance for NFL teams to see how well young players or players coming off injury fare in live game settings, and are central to the decision making process as teams assemble their final 53-man rosters. And to help give you an idea of what to look for around the league as the games (unofficially) commence this week is my right-hand man Hal Bent of FullPressCoverage.com. Hal’s Twitter handle: @halbent01 1. What did you think of Lamar Jackson’s performance in the Hall of Fame game? 2. What things stood out with the Bears? 3. Giants/Browns -With Corey Coleman traded and Antonio Callaway busted again…which Browns WR has the biggest opportunity to prove himself worthy of a starting job in this game? -FWIW, the Browns listed Nick Chubb as the third RB on the depth chart. Do you really think he’s that...

  • #128 NFL Training Camp Week 1 Recap/HOF Game Preview w/Hal

    02/08/2018 Duração: 41min

It is officially August, we are a week into 2018 NFL training camps…and tonight, the preseason kicks off with the Hall of Fame Game between the Ravens and the Bears. And a week from tonight, the rest of the league will join in the preseason festivities. We will talk about the Hall of Fame game later on in the program, but first, we’re going to discuss some of the major storylines of the first week of training camp. And joining us to do just that is my right-hand man, Hal Bent of BostonSportPage.com. Hal’s Twitter handle: @halbent01 1. Not only is Khalil Mack holding out of Raiders camp….but a: the Raiders have not held any talks with his camp since February and b: when asked if the defense can function without Mack, Jon Gruden said “our defense wasn’t good last year, even with Khalil Mack.” While that may be true, I personally believe that that comment reflects tealeaves on this front…and those tealeaves suggest to me that Khalil Mack’s days as a Raider might be numbered.

  • #127 2018 Denver Broncos Preview w/Zac Stevens

    22/07/2018 Duração: 49min

Three years removed from winning Super Bowl 50, the Denver Broncos have entered an era of uncertainty. This uncertainty goes above and beyond the drama surrounding the ownership succession plan and the elusive search for a stadium naming-rights partner. After a dismal 5-11 campaign in 2017, the Broncos have equipped themselves to remain competitive in the short term and also assembled a 2018 rookie class that should give fans some long-term optimism. However, the two most important components of an NFL franchise, the head coach and QB, remain somewhat of a mystery in the Mile High City. Thus, aside from a playoff berth, what, for the sake of the franchise’s long-term future, would be the most ideal scenario to unfold for the Broncos in 2018? Joining me to answer that question and a lot more is Zac Stevens, who covers the Broncos for BSN Denver. It’s a pleasure to we

  • #126 2018 Chicago Bears Preview w/Chris Shanafelt

    21/07/2018 Duração: 40min

It is the belief of many that the Chicago Bears were the winners of the 2018 offseason. Not only did they surround QB Mitchell Trubisky with a new coaching staff that can get the most out of his potential, they drastically upgraded the weapons around Trubisky AND might have had the best draft class on paper. Today, the Bears reported to training camp where they will begin to put this promise into practice. How much of that promise can be harnessed this year? Well, to help us answer that question and many others about this 2018 Chicago Bears team is our good friend Chris Shanafelt of NFLDraftBible.com. Chris’s Twitter handle: @ChrisShanafelt Bears fans should start to panic if Roquan Smith’s contract isn’t done by what date? Who should be the bigger priority to extend: Adrian Amos or Eddie Goldman? How will a more physical training camp benefit a Bears team that’s been devastated by injuries in recent years? Does the complexity of Matt Nagy’s scheme make you worry that Trubisky might...

  • #125 2018 NFL Training Camp Preview w/Hal Bent

    18/07/2018 Duração: 43min

It is great to be back after a month-and-a-half break and it is even greater to do so now because the first 2018 NFL training camps begin this week! The Ravens and Bears will have their first summer practice this Thursday, exactly two weeks before they kick off the 2018 preseason with the Hall of Fame Game. Technically speaking, football is back and in that spirit, it is a pleasure to welcome back my weekly in-season compatriot Hal Bent of BostonSportPage.com back to the program for our 2018 NFL Training Camp Preview. Welcome back Hal! How are you doing? I. Contracts and Holdouts 1. Today, as the franchise tag deadline passed, Le’Veon Bell and the Steelers could not come to a long-term agreement for the second straight year. This obviously means that not only will Bell play under the tag again, but a: this is likely his final season as a Steeler

Welcome back to Sports Krunch with DKrom ladies and gentlemen, I’m your host David Kromelow. Today we continue the final leg of our 2018 Dash To The Draft series with a look at the draft hauls in the AFC North. Round one of the 2018 NFL Draft began with the 2017 Heisman trophy winner landing in the AFC North, and ended with the 2016 Heisman winner landing in the AFC North. Joining us today to analyze that plus a lot more on the draft classes of the Browns, Ravens, Bengals and Steelers, is our good friend Pete Smith, Browns and NFL Draft analyst for NFLSpinZone.com. Great to have you back on the program Pete, how are you?

  • #118 Dash To The Draft XXIII: AFC West Draft Recap with Nick Kendell

    19/05/2018 Duração: 35min

Welcome back to Sports Krunch with DKrom ladies and gentlemen, I’m your host David Kromelow. This is our second of eight division-by-division recaps of the 2018 NFL Draft and we continue today with the AFC West. This division saw two of the draft’s best defenders land on its turf as well as arguably the most head-scratching class of the year. And to help us break it all down, it’s a pleasure to welcome our good friend Nick Kendell of MileHighHuddle.com back to the program. How are you Nick?

  • #117 Dash To The Draft XXII: AFC East Draft Recap with Connor Rogers

    19/05/2018 Duração: 19min

Welcome back to Sports Krunch with DKrom ladies and gentlemen, I’m your host David Kromelow. The 2018 NFL Draft is in the books, but there is no way we stop our 2018 Dash To The Draft series without a recap of each team’s draft haul. Just like our draft previews for each team, these recaps will be done on a division-by-division basis. We begin these recaps with the AFC East and it was a pleasure to have Connor Rogers join us to help break it all down. Along with renown NFL draft analyst Matt Miller, Connor co-hosts “Stick To Football”, one of THE best football podcasts out there, and he also contributes to Bleacher Report. Without further ado, here is Connor’s take on the 2018 draft classes of the Jets, Bills, Dolphins and Patriots.

  • #119 Dash To The Draft XXIV: AFC North Draft W/Pete Smith

    14/05/2018 Duração: 41min

1. Why was Baker Mayfield your favorite QB in this draft class and why should Browns fans be optimistic about him as the potential face of the franchise? When at the earliest should we expect to see him start this season? 2. Did Denzel Ward’s talent and upside meet the value of the fourth overall pick or do you think the Browns should’ve traded down with Buffalo and

    14/05/2018 Duração: 35min

    1. The Broncos reportedly only had three targets in mind with the fifth overall pick: Baker Mayfield, Sam Darnold and Bradley Chubb. If none were there, they were prepared to trade down with the Bills. When Chubb unexpectedly fell into their laps, they couldn’t resist passing on him, and rightfully so. What does Bradley Chubb bring to the Broncos pass rush that was missing since DeMarcus Ware hung up his cleats? 2. In the second round, the Broncos looked toward the very near future. With the roster spot of Demaryius Thomas in question after the 2018 season given his age and 2019 cap hit, the Broncos picked a near carbon copy of Thomas in SMU WR Courtland Sutton. Although Sutton is projected to be Thomas’s long-term replacement at the ‘X’ receiver position, he has similar holes in his game that Thomas had coming out of college, must notably the lack of a route tree. Thus, Broncos fans shouldn’t expect that big of an impact from Sutton this year. However, it should be incumbent upon the
