In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The Story, pg. 1 | Genesis 1:1 NIV His vision is to come down and be with us in a beautiful garden. The first two people reject God’s vision and are escorted from the garden. Their decision introduces sin into the human race and keeps us from community with God. The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. Exodus 35:4-5, 20-29; 36:1-7 I. Everything given was from a willing heart. II. People made a clear connection between the tabernacle and the God of the tabernacle. III. There is a clear connection between giving and worship. As long as your hand is open, God will bless. The moment your hand goes shut, God will close the miraculous flow to your life. A. Jesus, the incarnate Word In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us… John 1:1,14 The great miracle of Christmas is the incarnation of Jesus Christ! It is in the humanity of Jesus that we, covered in our own humanity, best identify with Him. What Satan, not the angels, not humanity itself, not even the woman in the Garden of Eden could understand was the prophecy, “The seed of the woman will come and bruise the serpent’s head.” When the sinless died for the sinful… when the perfect died for the imperfect our redemption price was paid. This is the seed of the woman. This is the miracle of Christmas.

Acts 4:1-22 Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.  Acts 4:29 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.” Acts 4:30 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. Acts 4:31 They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail. But during the night an angel of the Lord opened the doors of the jail and brought them out. “Go, stand in the temple courts,” he said, “and tell the people all about this new life.” Acts 5:18-20 1. Boldness almost always triggers spiritual opposition. If you're not ready to face opposition for your obedience to God, you're not ready to be used by God. 2. Boldness often releases God’s miracles. When you walk in obedience to God,
 you won’t be surprised by the miracles of God. 3. Boldness always requires faith.

Nehemiah 8:3-8 I. Receptivity reflects generosity. “If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear. Take heed what you hear. With the same measure you use. It will be measured to you; and to you who hear more will be given.” Mark 4:23-24 Receptivity: Quickness to receive. Desire to be stimulated. Easily trained. Ready to respond. II. Receptivity charges the atmosphere of your life. III. Receptivity will open doors in your life. “I know your works, see. I have set before you an open door and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept my word, and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8 If you live receptive, then your desires will be greater than the obstacles. Prayer: “Be Lord of what’s left of my life!” IV. Receptivity triggers action in your life.

Colossians 4:2-6 I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. 1. From where do we find our moral framework? 2. From where do I find ultimate meaning in life? a. A sense of Wonder b. The awareness of Truth. c. The experience of Love. d. The knowledge of Security. 3. What about hope? 4. The supremacy of the practice of love. The answers to life’s most important questions are not hard to find. Nor are they hard to agree to. But they can be very difficult to accept because it requires each one of us to change something about ourselves. If you look for truth you will find comfort.
